Built on Love

I wanted to add a page, just to talk about what I mean when I say 'this house is built on Love'...

A few weeks ago, I was rearranging my dining room table... making it more 'family' and 'guest' friendly.  I was repositioning it and suddenly the thought popped into my head....

'This house is built on Love'

I've pondered this, and what it means...

How to define love.  How to define what it means to build your house, your home, your family, your marriage, your children, your friendships, everything you do - on love.

The simplest answer I can give, is in the person that love truly is - not on 'love' as a thing.

We are Christians.  We are Jesus lovers.  And who more demonstrated love in His lifetime than Jesus Himself.  He gave all He had, for love.

What more of an example, than to declare that my house is built on Love.... on Love's example, on Love's sacrifice.

I surely make mistakes and have lots of areas to grow in my 'love' for others... but my hope is that in all we do as a 'house,' a family, we build it on Love.  The more I think about it, the more it sits right within me, that this is what we are about.  This is what I am about.

I am about opening my home, my heart to others.  Opening my dining table, and being hospitable, opening my time, my heart and my life, for the benefit and for the good of other people.  No matter who they are.  I extend my hand as an invitiation to my dining table - for an encounter with Love - even if it's just from reading the pages of my blog...

We were made for Love and to give Love away.
